2024 Recipient of the Rozsa Foundation Emerging Arts Manager Award

The Rozsa Foundation Emerging Arts Manager Award recognizes an individual in the early stages of their arts management career who has shown that their work significantly impacts the arts community. The recipient is recognized for their achievements to date and for their potential future impact.

We first learned of Sue-Shane and her work through Sue’s Stokvel, a literary platform she founded to uplift Black & Indigenous authors. She has since joined Mountain Standard Time (M:ST) as Executive Director just as the organization had decided to move on from their signature biennial festival. This left M:ST at an identity crossroads, and Sue-Shane has managed to forge new pathways forward and shape a new artistic identity by building amazing partnerships and developing artist residencies in printmaking and music, among many other exciting initiatives.

Sue Shane did this while solidifying operational structures within the organization, prioritizing paying fair wages to artists and contractors, planning pathways for digital equity, and centering care, respect, transparency, and knowledge sharing within the organization and the community M:ST serves.

Congratulations Shue Shane, we can't wait to watch your career continue to unfold and your impact on our community deepen with time.
